work US Arkansas Lock Dam Equipment Mechanic
Alone or as a member of a repair crew, accomplishes repair and maintenance to a variety of lock and dam equipment. Accomplishes repairs and/or alterations to component parts of hydraulic and pneumatic systems of lock facilities including rerouting piping; repair of damaged piping; repairing and replacing valves and cylinders; rerouting hydraulic lines to main hydraulic pumps; removal, repair and replacements of hydraulic rams; removal, repair and reinstallation of tainter valve seals; repairs or adjusts bearing, relief, and counterbalance valves on hydraulic equipment; rebuilds and aligns gears in gear boxes; reassembles gate hydraulic cylinders; installs tainter valve indicators; replacement of bell cranks and struts, etc. Realigns machinery as necessary. Makes structural adjustments or modifications to assure proper operation of machinery.A LOCK AND DAM OPERATOR'S CERTIFICATION IS REQUIRED
